candle with rub on paint

You will need:- a candle mould which is will leave at least 2cms around the candle you are using as a core. A dinner or other candle to use as the core. About 225gms of paraffin wax to which you have added at least 25% stearin (in this case 50gms). The stearin achieves two functions. It will make the wax really opaque and a brilliant white. It will also ensure that the candle comes easily out of the mould. As the wax cools very fast if you did not use stearin it would be very difficult to extract the candle from the mould. Ice cubes, mould seal - rub on gold paint (optional1)

Place your ready made candle into your mould and push its wick up through the hole in the top of the mould.

Stand the mould up.   Ensuring that the candle remains upright surround the candle with small ice cubes. Pour in the melted wax and stearin mix at 80ct

You are now ready to pour the wax and stearin mix into your prepared candle mould. Pour it to a level which covers all the ice cubes. You do not have to top up this candle.

Take the candle out of the mould. Because you have used so much stearin it should come out really easily.

If you like you can decorate the holes left by the ice cubes but applying some gold rub on paint to their edges.

Your finished candle! Because you have used so much stearin it should come out really easily.

The same method used with a round mould! (You do not have to use a round candle as a core - a small pillar candle will work just as well.
