| Make sure you have read both out safety instructions safety instructions and basic candle making instructions before you do any of these projects. Wicking the Candle You will now have to wick the candle. Prime some wick. Use a chop stick or skewer to make the hole down the middle. Measure where the wax comes up to at the top of the skewer. This is so that you make sure that you do not push the length of wick right down into the bottom of the candle. Measure the wick against the skewer so that you can see how deeply into the wax you should push the wick. Leave about 1cm at its base for safely. (you can also use wicks with sustainers for this project. Push it down into the wax whilst the wax is still a little soft in the middle but set all around the edges.
Then
bend it over a stick to secure it at the top.
Make
holes with a pencil or skewer around
the wick and top it up in the usual way. Try topping it up to within
1 cm of the edge in a different colour if you want to make it slightly
more exciting!
